I♥Faces ~ Angles

This week at I♥Faces it is all about the angles. Now if you're me you've read it All About The Angels each time but no, no, no - we're focusing on those angles at which a photo is taken and not the angels in the photos. Do feel free to ooo and aaah over the angels, though!
I'm always doing something weird with the camera, be it holding it out to the side, upside-down, crooked, belly down on the concrete, standing up on a chair - drives my husband nuts that the person isn't always centered and ends up at some odd angle. But I love it.
I choose to enter a picture of The Boy from the fall - I got at the bottom of the slide as he was sliding down and snapped. I love the feet up in the arm behind him, the gritty sand on the slide and the angles of the slide itself.Make sure to head on over to I♥Faces to see all the other fabulous entries this week!

I♥Faces ~ Jump For Joy!

It's JumpForJoy week over at I♥Faces! I often tease that The Boy walked one a Tuesday, ran on a Friday and was jumping with both feet off the ground shortly after that. It's not uncommon for you to come to our home and find The Boy flying down the red chaise to land on the mini-trampoline and then go soaring through the air across the living room. Bottom Line: This Boy Loves To Jump.

I opted for a shot from this past summer - the neighbors were over, we were playing on the Slip&Slide and David got out the hose for that extra "blast" of water. There at the end of the slide I sat perched with my camera at the ready and managed to catch this shot

We're so ready for warmer temperatures and green grass - and The Boy has already put in an order for a Cars Slip&Slide for this year!

I♥Hands at I♥Faces!

It's a week I am loving over at I♥Faces this week where the photos aren't all about the faces but rather all about the hands!

Meet Baby Jack and his sweet newborn baby hands. Don't you just love newborn hands, all wrinkled and waiting to fill out the skin with those translucent fingernails and just GOSH couldn't you just eat him up? I took this photo when he was just barely 24 hours old, all newborny and snuggled up. He's most precious and I'm jonesin' to take more photos of him sometime soon!

I♥Faces ~ I Wanna Dance!

It's I Wanna Dance week over at I♥Faces this week, and the entries are crazy cute and crazy beautiful and crazy fun ! Dancing is something we do in the living room and usually without the camera but I did have this gem stored on my computer. Saved from a few summers ago, after a long afternoon playing with friends, it captures the essence of The Boy at that age - dancing to music only he could hear and Jamming Out, care-free with his sweaty face and dirty feet. For the longest time kept it in a frame in the living room!

David & I Cracked Up

At this Stellar Job of "Handling Your Business" After Dinner by The Boy

When asked, he informed me that he's "not a little kid and Big Kids don't ask for help but the hole was too little so I just threw the peas all on the top and they kind of made a little mess" - to the tune of All Over The Kitchen Floor. Mildred enjoyed the after-dinner snack!

Polar Express or Midnight Train?

Around 3 a.m. I woke to all the lights in the house on. Fearing someone was up sick again, I called out to The Boy. Except he wasn't sick. Oh no. Not the least bit.

I walked down the hall to find him in the living room. He'd turned on all the lights in the house, found the remote, searched for the DVR'd Polar Express, gotten his train, and proceeded to act out his favorite scene. All in the middle of the night.

I asked just what possessed him to do so in the middle of the night.

He replied, Well I woke up and I saw dis commercial and then I had to go watch my favorite part.

Oh. I see. Well MY BAD for stopping you and sending you back to bed while requesting you keep such activity to times when THE SUN IS UP PLEASE. Ahem.

Needless to say we slept in this morning.

And then I sit trying to figure out what could have cause this excitement only to hear his exclaimation:

Oh wait if I take my glass and move them closer to the car I just might be able to make it - WAIT A MINUTE you were suppose to be asleep a half hour ago now Get.Back.In.Bed!

After the horrific cries of Not Getting To Play With Friends In YEARS and My Most Boringest Day EVER, coupled with I Never Get To Watch The Shows I Want To Watch and When Can I Do All The Things I Want to Do? David and I walked down the hall to find The Boy kicked back in his recliner playing PlayStation. Cracked us up. All he needs is a small table with a drink and he'd be good to go.

I Heart Faces ~ Textures

Hello I♥Faces It's Been A While! I sure have missed participating and so with the urging in my Facebook inbox from a friend (hi!) I opted to dig around and find a picture for this week. Textures was a bit tough, as I had to find a picture that contained texture. I'm not hip with photo editing software that lets me do super fabulous things with overlays and such since the only thing I have at my disposal is picnik - But I found something much better ~ Meet Delaney

Ya see, I was able to find a photo with a soft, fluffy blanket, angular blocks with ridges and the sweetest most adorable baby snoozing.

Wordless Wednesday - 100th Day

100th Day!

In honor of the 100th Day of school, The Boy will be bringing in 100 Cars. Would you expect anything different? Cannot believe we've been in Kindergarten for 100 days ~ this year is seriously flying by!

Not Our Best Day Ever.

It wasn't our best night or day ever. Around 2 a.m. The Boy got sick. And stayed sick. And sick. And sick. Multiple wardrobe and bed changes later it was morning and I wondered how I was going to make it through the day on a mere 2 hours sleep! He was So Very Thirsty but kept vomiting even a spoon of water every 30 minutes, so off to the doctor we went first thing. Turns out that even if the illness starts at 2 a.m. you actually can get dehydrated that fast! He wasn't severe and was able to take some Pedialyte without getting sick at the Pediatrician so we got a pass to come back home instead of going to the hospital. And all the angels rejoiced in heaven since really who wants for him to have an IV which includes a needled which is close to a shot and do you REMEMBER the shots in September? Yeah, so we're SO thankful.

We've managed to keep liquids in although the diarrhea continues. Folks here in town this is One.Nasty.Bug! The Boy has managed to pee as well so for now we're out of the woods. As long as we can keep liquids down and keep him hydrated, we should be able to stay hospital-free through the weekend.

He also has an ear infection, which we can't treat due to the vomiting/diarrhea. So we're going to go with Time for healing over the weekend. We go back to the doctor first thing Monday morning - but we have hopes of feeling So Much Better by then!

For now? We're all so very exhausted from a long night after what The Boy called Not His Best Day Ever so we're going to rest. I can hear his snores already and I hope to be snoring soon myself. Hoping for a much more restful night tonight!

We Have New Floors!

After working hard All Day Long the crew from Rusty's finally left around 7 p.m. tonight. Our floors look Fantastic. We're anxious to get our house back to normal over the next few days - and The Boy is excited to move in to his new room (well, that and to get the Wii hooked back up since he's having MarioKart withdrawls). Land sakes alive these floors look good. We are so blessed to have friends like Richard & Jimmy who helped us out along the way and neighbors who let our son hang out when there is nowhere to go in the house due to a floor crew. The party is at our house someday soon once things are back to normal! For now, photos will have to do but I assure you they don't do it justice . . .

Chuck E. & The Boy

The Boy was PSYCHED that our neighbor had a birthday party tonight at Chuck E Cheese. He informed me I've been waiting FOR YEARS to go back to Chuck E Cheese! and tonight he got his wish. We even got to hang out with Chuck E. Best.Night.Ever. claims The Boy, except for that part where we made him leave. Oh well, can't win them all. But we did have fun wishing Nathyn a very happy birthday!

How We Spent Our Christmas Vacation: Before Floor Shots

So a pipe in a closet gets a leak and results in this:Eventually resulting in the removal of carpet in several rooms, awaiting the delivery of new floors TOMORROW! TOMORROW! I Get New Floors, Tomorrow! My life can get back to some semblence of Normalcy! I'm So.Very.Excited!

But I digress. Lots of painting and prep work before the floor was to go in with the help of some good friends and Much Hard Work by The Huzbin (I can't help it I'm not a teacher and had to go back to work!). We've decided to move The Boy in to the spare room so it will be easier to redo the other room when we have the money.

Enough jabber - how about some photos? First up, what ones kitchen & dining room look like stuffed to the gils with all the items from the living room (we shant get in to the hunting haven my bedroom has become!)

Hello 2010!

We are still in the middle of major home stuff related to the whole pipe-busting-water-damage stuff. My LR is scattered throughout the DR & kitchen, the spare bedroom among storage facilities and our master bedroom, and my sanity? Lost somewhere in the shuffle. But - but! - One.More.Day People. I just need to make it til Tuesday afternoon and the new floor will be in and then we can put the house back together again!

All that aside, we celebrated the 6th Annual get together with our friends Jimmy & Carolyn on New Year's Eve. A fabulous time was had by all, especially The Boy who cried big fat tears the entire ride home because you not what the most funnest part of the night was not? when you made me leave! OhTheDrama.

Regardless, it was a NYE filled with laughter and a most fabulous way to end 2009

So we say bye-bye to 2009 and hello to 2010! Here's to hoping for a wonderful year to come!

We had ourselves a Merry Little Christmas!Santa did a FABULOUS job - getting the killer finds in the Frank the Combine AND the beloved Ear Muffins for The BoyAnd despite migraines and tummy woes, Wii rallied and had a great day (pun intended)
And after all that celebrating? We woke up this morning to wish David a HAPPY BIRTHDAY. I would love to list the 32 reasons I think he's fabulous, including that he buys me rocking Christmas gifts and took a family picture on Christmas day but alas the laptop battery is dying for the upteenth million time and let's just be honest here - I'm doing good to be updating with my track record, right? So we're waving hello from our house where we're all partied out. Tomorrow will find us tackling the carpet and painting the walls, so if you live in town and want to help we'll be more than willing to open the doors for ya. We'll even promise a MarioCart race or 2 on break times - but I get to play the winner!

Christmas Tree #4 Rocks!

Tonight The Boy and his Kdg friends, along with the other Kdg claseses & the PreK rocked it out under the direction of our very own Dad at the PTA. The Littlest Christmas Tree, which happened to star The Boy's feather color red from the thankful turkey - Mikayla, was a huge success. The Boy was spot on with his two very important lines and held it together even though "that tree hurt my hands and it was too heavy" Isn't he the cutest Christmas Tree #4 you've ever seen?

Way to go Monkey Boy! One performance down, another 2 to go! Knock their socks off at the school!
